April 8, 2017 @ 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
Residents of the Matfield Green community will hold a community sale on Saturday, April 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at several sites in the town.
Items for sale include furniture and decor, kids’ items, housewares, and storm doors and windows.
Be sure to come hungry, because Southfork Smokeshack will have a trailer in Matfield during the sale. They’ll sell breakfast burritos, smoked pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, and drinks.
One sale location is Andrea Kennedy’s Thistle Cottage shop. While the shop itself isn’t open yet, Andrea will sell garage sale items outside of the shop until 5 p.m.
The Fellowship Hall of Matfield Community Church is another location, with items for sale by people who live outside of Matfield.
All sale locations will be marked with signs.
Saturday also is the opening day for the 2017 season at The Bank Art Space, located on the west side of the highway in Matfield. The featured artist is Mary Gordon of Manhattan, whose art responds to the Flint Hills prairie and the communities residing there. The work of Matfield artists Matt Regier, Bill McBride, and others will also be on display.
The Bank opens at 10 a.m.; an artist reception begins at 4 p.m. Free coffee is available all day, with additional refreshments in the afternoon.
