1900 Theater Benefit Opera Performance
The Strong City Preservation  Alliance is proud to present the “International Opera Workshop” in a benefit concert to help support the renovation of the Strong City Opera House/Auditorium/Theater.  Martha Sharp, director of the International Opera Workshop has engaged four young opera singers from the area to perform: Abigail Triemer and Jessica True from Emporia with Chan Huo Park and Cole Bellamy from Wichita. They will perform arias and duets from three operas composed by G. Donizetti. (Don Pasquale, L’elisir d’amore and Le Fille de Regiment) They will also perform  three by W.A.Mozart. (Cosi fan Tutte, Le Nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte ) In addition there will be two arias by G.Puccini from the operas Gianni Schicchi and Turandot.

“We are so excited about this project.  It would be wonderful to revive this wonderful 1900 opera house to its former glory. We hope that by filling it with some operatic sound, it might awaken it’s old and very good  bones“ remarked Ms. Sharp.

The benefit concert will take place on April 13, 2019 at 5:00 PM at the Strong City Theater.  Admission is free and donations are greatly appreciated.  The Ad Astra restaurant in Strong City is offering a 10% discount to anyone who brings their program from the concert with them and shows it to their waitress.  The program should be less than an hour long so reservations for dinner at Ad Astra for 6:00 PM should make for a great evening.

The Alliance looks forward to hosting this event which allows patrons an unique opportunity to see and hear some exceptional talent from this area.  Please mark your calendar for April 13th and support this project.  Visit the blog at www.1900theater.com or our Facebook page for further information.
